My name is Jacob Coleman, and I’m running to represent the people of Waconia on the City Council. I’m a proud husband and a father to three young boys: Adam (5), and twins Charles and James (3). We moved to Waconia three years ago, drawn by the town’s welcoming spirit, vibrant community, and incredible opportunities for families. As a newer resident, I bring a fresh perspective while maintaining a deep appreciation for the long-standing traditions that make Waconia special.
I hold a law degree from the University of Minnesota Law School and an undergraduate degree in finance from the University of St. Thomas. Throughout my career, I have had the privilege of serving my community in a variety of roles, including as a firefighter and working for Congressman Paulsen. My professional experiences have equipped me with a skill set that I believe will be a valuable asset to our city.
I have always felt a deep calling to public service—whether that be as a firefighter, a community volunteer, or a public servant. When the opportunity arose to fill a vacancy on the City Council, I knew it was a great opportunity to reengage in public service and give back to this incredible community that my family calls home. I want to work to make Waconia an even better place to live, work, and raise a family, while ensuring it maintains its charm and close-knit feel.
